Year Billion ecu 1998 2.70 1999 2.75 Indicative allocations of the fund to the member states eligible have been made based principally on population, per capita GDP and surface area. Other socio-economic factors such as deficiencies in transport infrastructure have also been taken into account.
The indicative allocations are as follows:
Greece 16 per cent, to 20 per cent, of the total. Spain 52 per cent, to 58 per cent, of the total. Ireland 7 per cent, to 10 per cent, of the total. Portugal 16 per cent, to 20 per cent, of the total.
