§ Dr. MawhinneyThe amounts paid in deprivation payments by family health services authorities in 1992–93, the last year for which figures are available, will be placed in the Library. The deprivation payments scheme was introduced with the 1990 general practitioner contract to recompense GPs for the higher potential work load generated by patients living in deprived areas. Payments are targeted on those practices that serve the areas of highest deprivation.
