§ Mr. Charles WardleThe available information is that, in the period 1 January 1979 to 31 March 1994, around 2,600 Turkish nationals, including associated dependants, were recognised as refugees and granted asylum in the United Kingdom. Information on the number of these cases who have since died, left the country, obtained British citizenship or otherwise ceased to hold refugee status here, and information before 1979, is not available.
