The following tables give the total number of Crown servants in each year who made an application that was approved in consultation with the Cabinet Office. Figures are broken down by numerically significant departments. They show the numbers of applications to undertake independent consultancy and other work and, in each category, how many applications were referred to the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments. They also show how many applications were approved unconditionally, or were approved with conditions.
