§ Mr. BowisThe Government are committed to encouraging everyone who drinks alcohol to do so sensibly including young people. The effects of alcohol are included in the national curriculum, and the Department, the Health Education Authority and the industry-sponsored Portman Group have all produced materials for young people. It is important that alcohol consumers should be aware of the strength of their drinks and in "The Health of the Nation," we announced we would seek agreement with alcohol trade associations for the display of this information at points of sale.
