What plans they have to continue to support economic and political reform in Africa under the third-phase of the Special Programme of Assistance for sub-Saharan Africa co-ordinated by the World Bank.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)We have pledged to commit up to £300 million under the World Bank's SPA III programme over the three years 1994–95 to 1997–98. These funds will be available to poor, debt-distressed African countries, selected by Her Majesty's Government, which are adhering to an IMF/IBRD-endorsed economic reform programme, and are pursuing good government policies.
