§ Mr. JackI reported the outcome of the 12 April Fisheries Council in my reply of 13 April to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Hertsmere (Mr. Clappison) on 13 April at col.183-84. In a discussion on drift netting in the Council I stressed both the need to take environmental and ecological implications fully into account and my determination to oppose reintroduction of any derogation for drift nets longer than 2.5 km.
