To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what was the total expenditure by his Department on youth training in each of the last four years; and what is the expected outturn for 1994–95 in cash terms and in 1993–94 prices.

The information requested is given in the table. With fewer people in the age group concerned and more staying on in full-time education, we are now spending more per head on youth training than previously.
