HC Deb 14 April 1994 vol 241 c300W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many private patients were treated within national health service hospitals in 1992–93.

Mr. Sackville

Preliminary indications for 1992–93 are that private patients accounted for around 100,000 finished consultant episodes in national health service hospitals in England, or about 1 per cent. of total episodes.
