HC Deb 14 April 1994 vol 241 cc249-50W
Mrs. Golding

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will evaluate for use in England and Wales the system for allowing children to give evidence on commission, as[...]d in Scotland.

Mr. Maclean

We intend to consider the adequacy of current legislative provisions relating to the evidence of children in criminal proceedings when the findings of Professor Graham Davies' research become available at the end of this year. As part of that consideration we shall certainly take into account the early experience of the Scottish courts in taking evidence from children on commission.
