Earl Ferrers has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the population and accommodation of local prisons.
The attached table shows the certified normal accommodation (CNA), population, and population as a percentage of CNA (that is overcrowding) of each of the local prisons on 31 March 1994, rather than 1 April as requested, as that date was a public holiday and figures were not collated.
