§ Mrs. Ann WintertonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement setting out the purposes of the single regeneration budget and those constituent schemes which it encompasses.
§ Mr. BaldryThe single regeneration budget is intended to improve local areas and enhance the quality of life of local people by tackling need, stimulating wealth creation and improving competitiveness. It will encourage local partners to come together to plan a strategic approach to these needs and priorities. The programmes which are included in the budget are as follows:
