§ Mr. ForthSince 1 January 1994, local authorities have been required by law to consult heads and governors of grant-maintained schools in their area, as well as those of the schools which they maintain, about proposed amendments to their schemes of local management where these amendments constitute "significant variations" which require the Secretary of State's approval.
