HC Deb 12 April 1994 vol 241 c65W
Sir Jerry Wiggin

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total sum received in Northern Ireland for(a) firearm certificates and (b) shotgun certificates during 1993 or the most recent year for which figures are available.

Sir John Wheeler

In Northern Ireland, the possession of any firearm, including a shotgun, requires a firearm certificate. In 1993, the total sum received for firearm certificates was £1,118,484.

It would not be possible to provide a separate figure for the cost of those firearm certificates relating solely to shotguns without incurring disproportionate cost.
