To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what is his estimate of the take-up rate by women claiming family credit enhanced payments of £28 for the purpose of child care payments in respect of working mothers.

Mr. Hague

We expect that the take-up rate of those eligible for the maximum help with child care costs of £28 a week in family credit will be virtually 100 per cent.
