asked Her Majesty"s Government:

Whether they will include in their next report to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, under Article 9(1) of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, a full account of any proposals made by the Commission for Racial Equality for legislative, judicial, administrative or other measures to be adopted to give effect to the provisions of the convention, and of the Government"s response to those proposals; and if not, why not.

The Government are shortly to submit their 13th Biennial Report to the United Nations Committee on the. Elimination of Racial Discrimination in accordance with the guidelines which are laid down by the United Nations. A copy of the Commission for Racial Equality"s proposals contained in the Second Review of the Race Relations Act 1976 will be included in the report. The Government are giving careful consideration to the Commission"s recommendations and will respond as soon as possible. Details of the Government"s response will be provided to the United Nations Committee when available.
