To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what preparations are being made by his Department over the 50th anniversary of D-day.

Mr. Hanley

My Department is organising the official military commemorations of the 50th anniversary of D-day under the chairmanship of my noble Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence. These commemorations were announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 6 January and brief details have been placed in the Library of the House.
