To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to change the balance of interests represented by the composition of the United Kingdom Ecolabelling Board.

Mr. Yeo

My right hon. Friend has no plans to change the range of expertise originally available on the board. However, following the resignation of Miss Tessa Robertson in the summer, we are considering how to replace the expertise she brought to the board, in particular, her knowledge of the views of environmental nongovernmental organisations. I hope we will be able to make an announcement shortly.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the members of the United Kingdom Ecolabelling Board showing what sector or company they come from.

The members of the United Kingdom Ecolabelling Board are appointed in a personal capacity and not as representatives of their organisations. They bring with them expertise in a range of relevant fields. The current Chairman and members are:
