§ Mr. LangThe number of staff employed in the Scottish Office information directorate on 30 September 1993 totalled 51.5. The running cost of the directorate in 1992–93 was £1.9 million. Owing to the introduction of new Scottish Office budgetary arrangements in 1986–86, a directly comparable figure for running costs is not available for 1978–79; and no record has been retained of the total number of people then employed.
