HL Deb 28 October 1993 vol 549 c100WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What has been the result of the enquiry into improprieties experienced concerning non-British flag ships chartered during the Gulf War.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Viscount Cranborne)

The Ministry of Defence Police have carried out an investigation into alleged fraudulent activity in the chartering of merchant vessels during the Gulf crisis. Papers were passed to the Crown Prosecution Service on 6th November 1992. Investigations continue into certain aspects, and further comment would not be appropriate at this time.
