To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many Government employees, including home civil servants, there are in Northern Ireland.

§ Sir John Wheeler
On 1 April 1993, there were 33,009 whole-time equivalent staff employed in the Departments for which my right hon. and learned Friend has responsibility.
In counting whole-time equivalent staff, part-time employees are counted as halves.
