HL Deb 27 October 1993 vol 549 c90WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Governtnent:

How they intend to prepare for the 1996 meeting of the Commission on Sustainable Development, which is intended to deal with the atmosphere, oceans and all kinds of seas.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Baroness Denton of Wakefield)

We will be submitting reports on the atmosphere, oceans and all kinds of seas to the Commission on Sustainable Development for its meeting in 1996. The United Kingdom's sustainable development strategy, the climate change programme and the national biodiversity action plan, which the Government will be publishing shortly, will contain material relevant to the 1996 meeting and the publication of these documents, therefore, will be an important step in preparations for the meeting.
