To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what his estimate is of the budget for a full year of the Welsh Language Board.

The budget for 1993–94 for the advisory Welsh Language Board is £400,000. Decisions about future provision for the statutory Welsh Language Board will be made in the context of the current and subsequent public expenditure surveys and will take into account the change in status, duties, functions and remit of the board brought about by the Welsh Language Act 1993. I will announce my decisions in due course in the normal way.
