To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will place in the Library a map showing the boundaries of the sewage sludge dump in the Bristol channel.

All dumping of sewage sludge in the Bristol channel ceased in October 1992. The two designated disposal sites in use at that time were each circular areas of radius of 1 nautical mile centred at co-ordinates:

  • 51 22.5N 03 56.0W (site LU050) and
  • 51 24.5N 04 04.0W (site LU 160).

A map showing these areas has been placed in the Library.
