§ Mr. BowisIn 1991 the Department established the confidential inquiry into homicides and suicides by mentally ill people being conducted by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. This aims to cover all homicides and suicides by people who are currently in contact with the mental health services or who have been in contact within the last 12 months. Information is collected in respect of the various diagnostic groups, including schizophrenia.
