We are, however, currently forecasting a sum of £2.27 billion for 1993–94 for the operating costs incurred in countries where there are significant numbers of permanently garrisoned United Kingdom military personnel. The comparable figure for 1992–93 is £2.34 billion and for 1991–92 £2.50 billion. Figures for earlier years are not available.
