HC Deb 26 October 1993 vol 230 cc612-3W
Mr. Bayley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when the Government expect to complete their forestry review; and when the findings of the review will be published.

Sir Hector Monro

My right hon. Friend and his fellow forestry Ministers expect to receive the advice of the forestry review group early next year. They will then require some time to consider it and come to a view on what the next stages in this work should be.

Mr. Chris Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list those persons and organisations that have submitted evidence to the interdepartmental working party on the future of the Forestry Commission.

Sir Hector Monro

I refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave him on 27 May at column739.

Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make it his policy to initiate a programme of public and parliamentary consultation on the recommendations of the interdepartmental forestry review group.

Sir Hector Monro

Forestry Ministers will decide what the next stages in this work should be once the advice of the forestry review group has been received in the new year.

Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the current reporting time scale of the interdepartmental forestry review group.

Sir Hector Monro

Forestry Ministers expect to receive the advice of the forestry review group early next year.
