To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the current world price of(a) feed wheat and (b) milling wheat.

1 Canadian Western Red Spring No. 1 is a premium hard wheat with a protein content of 14 per cent. or above. Because of its high protein content and quality, it is used for premium breadmaking.
2 US Hard Red Winter wheat also has a high protein content (12–13 per cent.) and is used for breadmaking.
3 EEC Standard wheat has a lower protein content (9.5–10 per cent. on an equivalent moisture basis) and produces a softer flour. It is used for Borne types of bread and gluten can be added to improve the strength of the grist. Depending on supplies and prices, this wheat may also be used for animal feed.
