Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what was the percentage of ambulances in each service in Scotland that responded within(a) eight minutes and (b) 14 to 20 minutes to emergency calls in (i) 1992–93 and (ii) the first half of 1993–94;

(2) what was the number of ambulance staff in Scotland employed by the NHS in each year since 1990, using whole-time equivalents.
