HC Deb 21 October 1993 vol 230 cc329-30W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make it his policy to extend the review of occupational pensions undertaken by the Pension Law Review Committee to consider problems and issues concerning private pensions.

Mr. Hague

The Pension Law Review Committee was set up in June last year to review the whole framework of law and regulation of occupational pension schemes. This wide-ranging review covered both the private and public provision of occupational pensions. The committee reported its findings to the Secretary of State for Social Security who published the report on 30 September (CM 2432). Having fulfilled its terms of reference, the committee has now been disbanded and the Government are making a start on the detailed consideration of the committee's recommendations.
