§ Mr. Matthew TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Education what is his response to the survey inspection of specialist training courses in England and Wales for teachers intending to teach hearing impaired pupils, visually impaired pupils and pupils with severe learning difficulties 1990–91 Ref. 64/92/NS; and what assessment he has made of the effects of the reduction in the supply of specialist trained teachers on the quality of education provision for hearing-impaired pupils.
§ Mr. ForthMy right hon. Friend is aware of the findings of the survey, and is monitoring the situation carefully in respect of training for teachers in all areas of special education.
