To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the reasons for the departure of Dr. Tom Thorpe from the energy technology support unit at Harwell.

Mr. Tom Thorpe has not departed from the energy technology support unit but continues to work in the unit's strategic studies department, which he joined in June 1989.
