HC Deb 18 October 1993 vol 230 c102W
Dr. Lynne Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what progress the BBC has made in its programme for building new FM radio transmitters to extend the coverage of its national services.

Mr. Brooke

By September this year, I understand that the BBC had 185 national network radio transmitter sites in operation, including seven built since 1 April 1993. Transmissions from a further 15 sites are due to begin before 1 April 1994.
