HC Deb 30 November 1993 vol 233 c426W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if sufferers from repetitive strain injury qualify for sick pay.

Mr. Scott

Employers administer and pay statutory sick pay. Subject to the satisfaction of the other qualifying conditions, payment is made whenever the employer is satisfied that his employee is incapable of doing the work required under his contract of service, whatever the cause of incapacity.

Whether or not occupational sick pay is payable in these circumstances will depend on the terms of individual schemes.
