The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about overcrowding in each prison in the United Kingdom.The table shows those prisons in England and Wales that were overcrowded on 24 November. The percentage overcrowding is calculated from the extent to which population exceeds the certified normal accommodation (CNA) available for use.
