Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made in taking the three urgent steps advocated in the letter of 4th August 1993 from the Advisory Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations to the Minister for Energy, a copy of which was placed in the Libraries of both Houses of Parliament.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Strathclyde)

The Minister for Energy's letter of 14th October, a copy of which is in the Library of the House, set out the measures which were already being taken in response to the steps advocated by Professor Horlock. Action on these will continue as appropriate.
