To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department when he proposes to bring forward legislation to enact the recommendations of the Law Commission contained in its report "Landlord and Tenant Law: Privity of Contract and Estate", No. 174; and if he will make a statement.

Legislation to give effect to the Government's decision to implement the recommendations in the Law Commission's report "Landlord and Tenant Law: Privity of Contract and Estate"—Law Corn. No. 174—for future leases, but not for existing leases, will be introduced as soon as there is a suitable opportunity.
