Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many juveniles were(a) cautioned and (b) prosecuted by the police in (i) Barnsley, (ii) Doncaster, (iii) Rotherham, and (iv) Sheffield for each year since 1990 and this year to date; and how many of those prosecuted were committed by the courts;

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what were the most common crimes committed by persons aged under 16 years in the Lancashire constabulary's Pennine F division for each year since 1985; and of those juveniles convicted of an offence over this period, what was the average sentence served.

Information collected centrally shows only the police force area in which the crime was recorded. The tables show the number of juveniles aged 10 to under 16 years of age cautioned, convicted and the average sentence length given by type of court in the Lancashire constabulary for 1985 to 1992.
