§ Mr. AtkinsThe Government are continuing their work to maintain and enhance the quality of the countryside and to protect habitats and landscape, thereby providing enjoyment and pleasure for present and future generations. This work is undertaken on a number of fronts, including the declaration of areas of special scientific interest, environmentally sensitive areas, areas of outstanding natural beauty and national nature reserves.
