HC Deb 29 November 1993 vol 233 c285W
Sir David Knox

To ask the President of the Board of Trade how much has been spent on regional industrial policy in each year since 1974–75; and what the expected expenditure will be in the current financial year, at constant prices.

Mr. Sainsbury

The exact amount spent on regional industrial policy since 1974–75 could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Most of the expenditure under regional industrial policy was on regional development grants and regional selective assistance. Information on the spend of these two schemes in Great Britain since 1974–75 is set out in the table together with expenditure on European Community
