§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what consultation he has had with Cardiff city council in relation to the release of urban development grant funds to Brent Walker with respect to the Cardiff international arena; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Redwood[holding answer 26 November 1993]: Cardiff city council is party to the urban development grant 359W agreement drawn up with Brent Walker and responsible for monitoring the Cardiff international arena project. The Welsh Office receives written quarterly progress reports from the council and frequent informal contact is also maintained. These arrangements are no different from those which apply to other UDG projects.
The CIA project is now almost complete and final payment of grant, £256,000, will be made when a certificate of final completion has been issued and approved.
