§ Sir George YoungMy Department has no estimates of the average annual costs to local authorities of housing homeless households in temporary accommodation.
Data on the annual costs and use of bed-and-breakfast accommodation from which average annual costs can be derived, are, however, published by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in "Homelessness Statistics 1991–92 Actuals", a copy of which is in the Library.
The CIPFA publication contains insufficient information to derive average annual costs for other types of temporary accommodation.
