HC Deb 26 November 1993 vol 233 c242W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what percentage of NHS patients waiting for admission had waited more than six months at March, June, September and December 1992 and March, June and September 1993.

Dr. Mawhinney

Information on the number of patients waiting for admission to hospital is given in "Hospital Waiting List Statistics: England", which is published twice yearly for March and September. Copies are available in the Library. The most recent information is for March 1993, which shows that 27.4 per cent. of patients had waited more than six months for treatment. This compares with 30.5 per cent. in September 1992 and 29.5 per cent. in March 1992.
