HC Deb 26 November 1993 vol 233 c239W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the extent of the over or under-spending, on general practitioner fund holder budgets in each national health service region and family health services authority area; and what were the sums returned and/or retained by general practitioner fund holders in each case.

Dr. Mawhinney

Information on 1992–93 outturn will not be available centrally before the end of November.

Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what systematic accounting systems and records of activity she has laid down for general practitioner fund-holding practices.

Dr. Mawhinney

The general practitioner fund holders' manual of accounts contains guidance on accountancy matters relating to, and the financial management of, the general practice fund. In addition, GP fund holders must have computer software to assist in managing a fund. The GP fund-holding software specification sets down the software requirements for this. Copies of both these documents are available in the Library.
