§ Mr. Gummer[holding answer 25 November 1993]: I visited Liverpool on 14 July, and held meetings with the leader and chief executive of Liverpool city council, representatives of the regional press and media, and the Bishop and Archbishop of Liverpool. Issues of economic development were covered at all these meetings.
My right hon. and learned Friend the then Secretary of State for the Environment visited Liverpool on 30 March. He met councillors from all parties on Liverpool city council, together with the chief executive and director of resources; he also met press and media representatives, and the chairman, directors and senior officers of the Liverpool housing action trust.
