§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Statement by the President of the United Nations Security Council issued on 16 November encouraged the Secretary-General to send his Special Representative on Burundi, Mr. Ould Abdallah, to Bujumbura with a United Nations team, to assist the Organisation for African Unity (OAU) in its efforts to restore democratic institutions, rebuild confidence and stabilise the situation. The Secretary-General has been asked urgently to report on this mission and on his recommendations for the creation of a voluntary fund to assist in the despatch of an OAU mission.
