Mr. Robin Squire
In the 1991–92 academic year 37,676 appeals were lodged by parents against the non-admission of their children to the maintained school of their choice. The figures requested, by LEA area, are given in the table. In many cases appeals were withdrawn or settled before being heard by an appeals committee.
