HC Deb 24 November 1993 vol 233 c95W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what representations he has made to the Government of Indonesia in regard to the restrictions on movement of indigenous people imposed by the Indonesian authorities prior to and during the visit by the United Kingdom military attaché in Jakarta to East Timor in early November.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

I have been asked to reply.

We are not aware of any restrictions on movement of the indigenous people imposed in connection, with the recent visit to East Timor of defence attachés based in Jakarta.
