§ Mr. NeedhamA prime objective of the current GATT Uruguay round market access negotiations is the substantial reduction or elimination of non-tariff barriers by all participants. The Government fully support this objective and the European Commission, which negotiates on behalf of the European Community, continues to press trading partners for major concessions on non-tariff barriers.
