Mr. Austin-Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement regarding the timetable for withdrawal of his Department from the Queen Elizabeth military hospital in Woolwich.

Current plans are for a withdrawal by March 1998. We are holding discussions with the NHS about the Greenwich healthcare trust progressively taking over the hospital in advance of this date.
